We help buyers choose materials, GSM, texture, folding and packaging, and balance softness with resistance to surface fuzzing. In our face-towel projects, 60–95 GSM is the mainstream range. 80 GSM is a popular choice because it balances absorbency and price. Choose the final GSM together with the material, size, texture and sample performance. Based on our production experience with towels of the same GSM, cotton has a more textured feel and the highest cost. Viscose feels smoother and softer than cotton. Lyocell feels firmer; its absorbency and lint shedding are similar to viscose. Polyester feels soft and costs less, but absorbs less and is prone to lint shedding. In viscose/polyester blends, increasing the polyester content generally lowers cost and absorbency while making surface fuzzing more likely. The final feel and performance also depend on the blend ratio and spunlace process, so we recommend comparing approved samples before choosing a material.
