Material facts are separated from environmental claims. Claim wording must match the final SKU composition, destination market and available supporting evidence.

Material and claim boundary matrix
The first column identifies a possible composition. The final composition must still be confirmed in writing for the selected SKU.

Biodegradability does not establish that a product is flushable. “Flushable” is a separate performance claim requiring an applicable test protocol and passing product-level evidence.

Before using an environmental statement on packaging or in a tender, align the exact wording with the evidence available for that SKU and market.

Specification-Led Materials
Material Statements Per Product
Biodegradability can only be discussed for a confirmed 100% viscose or 100% cotton product once the final specification and supporting documentation have been reviewed. Products containing polyester or polypropylene are not described as biodegradable.

Is every viscose towel biodegradable?
Do not assume this from the material name alone. Confirm the complete composition, any additives or components, the intended environment, the applicable test method and product-level evidence.
Can a Vis/PET towel be called plastic-free?
No. PET is polyester, so a product containing PET should not be described as plastic-free or microplastic-free.
Does a paper box make the full product recyclable?
No. Recyclability depends on every packaging component, coatings, adhesives and local collection and processing rules. The product and the packaging should be assessed separately.

Available documents depend on the selected SKU, material, test scope and project. Request the relevant documents before finalizing packaging or tender wording.
