How to Read a Disposable Towel Specification Sheet
Most specification sheets a buyer receives are a mix of three different kinds of information, presented in the same font. Some fields are recorded — a value exists in the supplier's product data. Some are project confirmations — the supplier can make it, but only after the sample. Some are simply open. Reading the sheet without separating those three is how a quotation turns into a dispute three months later.
Recorded values are the only ones you can hold someone to
A recorded value is one that appears in the supplier's own product data before your enquiry. On our pillowcase record, for example, the recorded values are 100% viscose or 70% viscose / 30% polyester, 60–70 GSM, five sizes from 50 × 80 cm to 66 × 66 cm, a plain surface, and single-piece packing on request. Those are the fields we can be measured against without a new sample.
Everything else on that page is a confirmation, not a commitment.
Project confirmations are legitimate — as long as they are labelled
A project confirmation means the value is decided per order: GSM on a bed sheet, the colour on a salon towel, the unit count in a carton. It is not a weakness in the offer; it is how the range actually works. The weakness is when a supplier presents a confirmation as if it were recorded, because then the buyer builds a price and a plan on a number nobody has fixed.
Open fields should stay open
Some sheets carry a field that nobody can answer yet: an MOQ that depends on the format, a delivery window that depends on scheduling, a certification that depends on the destination market. Marking those as open is more useful than filling them with a plausible number. A supplier who writes "confirmed per project" in a field is telling you something true; a supplier who invents a figure is telling you something convenient.
The three questions that settle most sheets
Ask which fields are recorded, which are confirmed per project, and what the approval sample will be measured against. If the answers match the sheet, the quotation will hold. If they do not, the sheet is a brochure.
Our towel ranges are listed under disposable towels, with the full specification fields on each category page.
