Viscose vs Cotton vs Viscose/Polyester for Face Towels
Face towels are sold on material far more than on size, and the material choice decides three things at once: how the sheet behaves at higher weights, how it feels, and what the packaging is allowed to claim.
Viscose: the default for a reason
Viscose is the base of most of our face-towel range. It takes a pearl or F emboss cleanly and gives a soft surface at the 60–95 GSM band where most projects sit.
Cotton: a different hand, a different price
Cotton is recorded alongside viscose and viscose blends in the same 40–100 GSM option set. It reads as more familiar to some markets, and it prices differently. It is not simply "better": the choice depends on what the service needs and what the buyer can sell it for.
Viscose/polyester: where the fuzzing threshold appears
From our own production on the pearl pattern: above 80 GSM a viscose share below roughly 70% tends to fuzz, and above 90 GSM the practical floor rises to about 80% viscose. That is a production observation, not a rule for the industry, and it is checked again on the approved sample. It does explain why a heavy pearl towel and a cheap blend do not usually coexist.
The claim that cannot travel with the blend
Wording used for 100% viscose or 100% cotton cannot be carried onto a polyester blend. Compostability, third-party certification and degradation timing are confirmed separately and are never inherited from another grade. A pack that says otherwise is a compliance problem, not a marketing choice.
Choose in this order
Service first, then material, then GSM, then texture, then packaging. Choosing material last is how projects end up with a specification that cannot be printed honestly.
