What GB/T 40276-2021 Means for Imported Soft Nonwoven Towels
GB/T 40276-2021, Soft nonwoven towels, is a Chinese national standard for dry nonwoven wipes used to clean human skin. It matters to an importer for one practical reason: it is published, and the organisations that drafted it are named in a public registry.
What the standard covers
It sets requirements and test methods for the product category rather than for one factory's line. A buyer reading it can see which properties are addressed and which are left to the contract.
Why the drafting list is worth checking
Certificates come from the supplier. A standard's drafting list comes from a registry a third party maintains. Jaroll is listed among the drafting organisations of GB/T 40276-2021, and Tian He is named among the drafters; the entry can be checked on the national standards platform rather than taken from a brochure.
What it does not tell you
Being a drafter says nothing about the weight of your towel, the colour, the packing, the price or the delivery date. It is evidence about how a company works on specification, not a certificate of product performance.
How to use it in a supplier review
Put it in the same column as everything else that is independently checkable: registry entries, published standards, test reports tied to a batch. A claim that can only be checked by asking the claimant again is not evidence.
