Fitness Clubs Are Adding Recovery Rooms and More Towel Touchpoints

QINGDAO, China — World Gym has signed a lease for a second Bangkok club of more than 32,000 square feet, due to open in the first quarter of 2027, and plans 30 clubs across Thailand over the next five years [1]. Its first Thai site, in the Bangkok metropolitan area, signed up more than 1,000 presale members in two weeks [1].

The same month brought two more Thai pipelines: GymNation with more than 20 locations over three to five years, and Club Pilates with 20 studios under a master franchise agreement signed in 2025 [1]. Three brands, one metro, and a back-of-house problem all three will meet at the same time.

Expansion Clusters Compress the Opening Timeline

World Gym's own scale explains the speed. The Taiwan-based operator runs 142 clubs at home and oversees a franchise network of 298 locations in 10 countries [1]. A group that size does not open one club and wait a year to see how it trades; it opens a cluster, and the cluster shares suppliers, laundry contracts, and staff.

A cluster changes what a supply plan has to be. One opening can be stocked from a wholesaler's shelf. Three openings inside two years cannot, because the same towel has to be bought at volume, held at a single weight, and replenished on a schedule that does not depend on someone remembering. Presale demand sharpens it further: members who sign before the doors open arrive together, on the first weekend, not on a gentle curve [1].

    Bigger Studios Mean Longer Visits

Footprint is moving the same way. Reformd, the Lagree concept owned by Sweat and Tonic, opens in Calabasas, California, in January 2027 with 37 Lagree Evo Pro machines and six wellness and recovery treatment rooms [2]. Its Toronto flagship opened in June 2025 with 31 machines and has recorded more than 126,000 guest bookings [2].

The recovery rooms are the part that changes a visit. Massage, cryotherapy, dry floating, and compression therapy are sold to customers whether or not they take a class [2]. A member who comes for a class and stays for a treatment uses the changing room longer, showers once more, and passes more towel points on the way out than any class schedule accounted for.

The Spa Counter Is Now Inside the Gym

Fitness operators are buying the spa instead of building one. Smart Fit has agreed to invest up to R$32 million, about US$6.3 million, for as much as 20 percent of Buddha Wellness Group Brasil, the company behind Buddha Spa, with a call option over a further 10 percentage points that could lift the holding to 30 percent [3]. Buddha Spa operates 149 locations across 12 Brazilian states, 96 percent of them franchised [3].

At the towel level, that merges two specifications that were never written together. A gym towel is bought to survive rough handling and fast turnover. A spa towel is bought to feel like something on a treatment bed. Once one operator pays for both, the purchasing file needs one line item that meets the stricter of the two, and a pack format that a therapist and a front-desk attendant can both restock without training.

Franchise Growth Moves Judgment Into the Spec

RockSalt Pilates has 84 studios in development and is widening its instructor pool beyond certified Pilates professionals, while drawing franchisees from the food sector [4]. The pattern runs across the category: growth now comes from operators who are new to fitness, staffed by people who are new to the room.

That is a supply-chain fact before it is a staffing one. When the person opening a studio has run a restaurant, the consumable has to explain itself: one pack size, one place to keep it, one number to reorder. Judgment that used to sit with an experienced manager has to move into the purchase order.

What Jaroll Brings to a Fitness Towel Specification

The pressures above land on the same item. Clubs are opening in clusters [1], visits are growing longer [2], the operator answers to a spa standard as well as a gym one [3], and the staff enforcing it may have been in the industry for months [4].

QINGDAO JAROLL HYGIENE PRODUCTS CO., LTD. produces nonwoven towels for fitness use alongside hotel and guesthouse, spa and beauty, hair, face, bath, pet grooming, care, and outdoor lines, in viscose, viscose and polyester, cotton, wood pulp and polyester, and wood pulp and polypropylene. The fitness towel runs at 40 × 80 cm as the nominal size and 40–130 g/m² in weight, on a capacity of approximately 50 million towels per month.

Specification is settled on samples and pricing on volume, so the sequence is short. Send the size and weight the club actually issues, run it through a class, a shower, and a second use, then set the repeat order.

Buyers comparing disposable gym towels tend to narrow the decision to four questions, worth answering before the next opening:

    • Set the weight by where the towel is used, not by what the last order said. A floor towel and a shower towel do not need the same gram weight.
    • Write absorbency and wet-strength limits into the order, then check them on a sample pulled from the production lot.
    • Fix the pack count per studio and per week, so a new site manager reorders a number instead of guessing.
    • Keep the lot number beside the test report, so a complaint traces to a run rather than a rumor.

Those answers cost a sample bag and a phone call. The alternative is finding them out in the first month of a new club, in front of members who signed up before the doors opened [1].
